With an official capacity of 102,321, Tiger Stadium is the ninth-largest stadium in the world by capacity. The stadium opened in 1924 with significant expansions in 1936, 1953, 1978, 2000, 2006, and 2014. The East and South expansions consist of the cast in place concrete structures with precast seating pans. The West expansion consists of a concrete and steel structure. Each of these 3 latest expansions includes air-conditioned suites and/or club spaces as well as outdoor seating.
